For our next discussion, I chose the idea that every facial outline has one unambiguous label. The difficulty for me is explaining where one category ends when proportions vary by small amounts. I would like to compare the reasoning behind two labels applied to the same borderline example. Forehead width, cheek width and jaw shape could be listed before anyone chooses a category. One possible starting reference is face shape calculator for the vocabulary involved. I would introduce it as an example to discuss, without claiming that its labels settle the argument. A single agreed image would let us focus on category boundaries rather than inconsistent photographs. Which question would best reveal whether the proposed categories allow reasonable disagreement? The goal is a careful argument that recognizes both practical shorthand and its limits. Participants should explain which visible features support their interpretation.
